Here’s to winging 🕊️ it
I know you’ve got opinions about wings on bikes. I’ve got em too.
But what’s the history? Where’s the start and where are we now?
One of our subscribers dug in and put together a rather remarkable piece that doesn’t give a shit about your opinions. Or mine.
For the past decade MotoGP bikes have been donned with winglets, looking for more stability and front end feel. Every manufacturer is making a concerted effort to find the best aero kits for their bikes. And every bike in the current Motogp paddock has these winglets, albeit they differ widely (pun intended). But how did they come about, and what has made them so popular?
Hit the read link for the rest. Thanks, Mark. Thoughts on wings?

Together with Chubby Buttons
An NYC Origin Story: Chubby Buttons
I’ve known and used Chubby Buttons since I started riding (yeah, not that long ago) and love the product. I’m thrilled and grateful to have Mike & Justin be one of the first brands to support the NYCMOTO newsletter.

It took the guys (friends since they were 13) one and a half years to go from initial idea to bringing in 5,000 units into the States. They built out the Chubby Buttons product at first to help them on the slopes (good luck pausing music or skipping a track with gloves on and your phone buried in the crevices of your gear) but quickly learned that use cases far surpassed what they had originally thought. Customers started sending them pics of the damn things everywhere; shower walls (the backing is Nanostick), airplanes (!), motorcycles, jet skis, kitchens (chefs can just knuckle the buttons instead of getting grease all over their phones), and all kinds of other action sports. They even ended up in X Games grab bags, on Shark Tank and in Ski Magazine.

I love the Chubby Buttons story, the product itself, and I love that the guys are from NYC. Check out Chubby Buttons here and use the coupon code NYCMOTO20 for 20% ($15) off.
Have you used them? Let us know.

The top 15 motorcycle movies of all damn time
Weather shitty? Grab the 🍿 and a 🍺 .
If you're talking classic, you gotta tip your hat to On Any Sunday. It's like the OG of motorcycle movies. This 1971 gem gave a sneak peek into the dirty, greasy underbelly of racing with big dogs like Steve McQueen, Malcolm Smith, and Mert Lawwill. If you're not hooked, go check out On Any Sunday: The Next Chapter by Redbull Racing. You're welcome.
This underdog from 2013, Why We Ride, is the sweetheart of the Motorcycle Film Festival where it clinched the “Best Documentary” title. It's got everything from racers with nerves of steel to your friendly neighborhood riders just living the dream. Seriously, don’t miss out.
