What do you do over the winter? ❄️ ☃️

I know we still have a few solid good months left in this year’s riding season but unless this is your first winter, I know you’re planning for it based on what’s worked for you in the past.

So what do you do in the winter?

Do you store the bike? Where do you store it? For those unsure, I’ll throw up a post about it soon with details. In the meantime, your local dealer is sure to offer you some options. Oh and btw, just because it’s a Ducati dealer doesn’t mean that all they store is Ducatis. Also, some dealers don’t actually store on-site; in fact, Ducati NYC will transport your bike to their equipped warehouse in PA.

Do you travel?

There are some fantastic spots throughout the winter that are completely ridable and much more accessible than you think. Is this something you’ve already done? Where do you go? Hop on over to our Facebook Group and share your stories.

I’m going to be rolling out a content series with discounts on trips, including flights, lodging, local tours, and of course bike rentals. In the meantime, I’m partnering with Riders Share (20% discount on first rides) that offers a nationwide bike rental service for travelers. I’ve used Riders Share in Colorado (rented a Ducati Diavel 1260s w/ full termi exhaust) for a week and a weekend with a Ninja H2SX in NYC when my Streetfighter was in the shop. Both times were fantastic experiences.

Do you ride through the winter?

Yessssss. This is all me. I strap on winter-friendly tires (Rosso Corsa II’s on my Streetfighter V4S and just ride on through. In fact, I rode from NYC to Boston and back on my bike through 35 degree weather this past season. That was dumb though. Don’t do that.

Anything above 35 degrees in the city (keep in mind that Manhattan’s actual weather is like 5 degrees warmer than what weather apps state) is fair game for getting from point a to point b. If I have to run out of the city, then I like to see at least 40 degrees. Shit gets cold fast on the highway. I’ll do another post with my winter gear setup soon. I don’t want to start thinking about it yet and neither do you.

Whatever you do, I want to hear about it. Head over to our the 👉️ NYCMOTO Riders FB Group and share your shit.

👉️ This is one of the 🤩 best routes I’ve ever seen…

It really is. Phoenicia is beautiful on its own and holds a special place in my heart. My wife and I almost bought a house up there the first time we visited.

Last weekend, I went up to Phoenicia with the group I ride with and had one of the best rides I’ve been on in a while. Thanks, Mark, Nat, & Rodger.

It’s a phenomenal set of roads, great sights to see (Ashokan reservoir, overpasses, etc), a hairpin, fast curves, and tons of options.

We set out early morning out of Cold Spring but feel free to start at 9W Market or wherever you’re meeting your group from. Up to you.

From there, we head North.

⛰️ Check out some of these other routes I’ve put together

Hit me up if you guys prefer one over the other and we can put together a ride out this Fall.
